“The Parfumerie”, now a name synonymous with making prestigious skin care, cosmetics and perfume brands available to Sri Lanka, has been in existence for more than fourteen years. The business began in a counter shop at Liberty Plaza, and sold fragrances from Dior, Givenchy and Paco Rabanne. Today, The Parfumerie features stores at all major malls and shopping centres, including Majestic City, Liberty Plaza, Crescat, Hilton Colombo Residence, Odel, Galle Face Piazza, and the Singer Mega Stores; and carries more than twenty top brands of cosmetics, skin care, and of course, perfumes.
The parents company of The Parfumerie is Victory Impex (Pvt) Ltd. Victory Impex has been in the luxury fragrance and cosmetics business fifteen years. It is a part of the prestigious Victory Group that began business in 1947 with Victory Silk Store, which still exists at the Kolpetty junction. Our founder, Mr. C. Parsram came to Ceylon in the year 1914. A man of considerable business acumen, he soon became Managing Partner of Seeroomal Topandas, a pioneer business establishment at Bristol Building in York Street, Fort. His tenure of service with them lasted nearly thirty years. In 1947, he established Victory Silk Store, the cornerstone of our foundation. Since then the Victory Group has taken flight, branching out into apparel export industry, the manufacture & distribution of consumer electronics, duty free shops at the BIA and finally into luxury fragrances.
The Parfumerie has come a long way since 1993. Every year, a minimum of two or three new fragrances are launched, along with many other activities, such as visits by International Make up Artists, island-wide radio competitions and launch parties.
Recently, The Parfumerie decided to reinvent itself. Although the look of the stores and the corporate branding has been changed a few times over the years, this year’s change has been the most significant for the company. A series of renovations have begun at some of the shops and the ones at Crescat and Liberty Plaza are already complete. The Parfumerie’s new look is also complemented by a new corporate image. The new logo is more impactful and still carries The Parfumerie’s characteristic hot pink colour in a circle above the “I.” It is this circle that will be used to identify the image of The Parfumerie from now on.
